Balance Dal Lake, gardens and the old city with enough time to enjoy Srinagar at a comfortable pace.

Balance Dal Lake, gardens and the old city with enough time to enjoy Srinagar at a comfortable pace.

Day one: settle in by the lake

Keep your first day flexible around your arrival. A relaxed walk, time on or beside Dal Lake and an early evening can help you settle in before a fuller sightseeing day.

Confirm local transport and any activity timings directly with providers. Lake experiences and access can vary with weather and operating conditions.

Day two: gardens and city highlights

Give yourself time to explore Srinagar's Mughal gardens and choose a few city stops that interest your group. Rather than trying to fit every attraction into one day, leave room for meals, traffic and unplanned breaks.

If you want to visit religious or heritage sites, check local opening arrangements and dress expectations before you go.

Day three: choose your own pace

Use the last day for a favourite place, a market visit or a slow morning before departure. If your flight or onward drive is early, keep this day short and confirm transfer times in advance.

Three days work well as an introduction to Srinagar. Add more nights if you want to include day trips to places such as Gulmarg or Pahalgam without making the schedule feel rushed.
